Valwell Development Enterprise Co Ltd is an OEM ball valve manufacturer based in Taichung, Taiwan. Since its foundation in 1998, the company has specialised in the creation of stainless steel, pneumatic and cryogenic ball valves as well as blind flange valves.
These are supplied to clients throughout the power generation, chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, pulp and paper products, mining, cryogenic and shipbuilding industries in more than 20 countries around the world including: major shipbuilding areas including China, Japan, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Always looking to secure new opportunities, the company recently gained a new client in Europe. Having drawn on an additional two decades of personnel experience in the field previous to the foundation of Valwell, the company delivers to these clients some of the most reliable products in the market.
The range of ball valves available from Valwell is extensive, covering both common and specialist application. This includes pressures from vacuum to 10,000 PSI, temperatures up to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, and sizes ranging from 0.25 to 30 inches. Its blind flange valves, for example, include light and heavy type models as well as two full port models; all offer ease of use (can be operated by a single untrained person) as well as a solid and reliable structure that is typical of Valwell products and essential for safe operation in any environment but are particularly suited to LNG and LPG carriers. Floating ball valves are another common type available, this series including flanged and jacket flanged, wafer type, and thread end designs.
Its specialist selection is no less verbose. The high-pressure valves in Valwell’s portfolio are crafted using high-grade steel and innovative manufacturing processes to provide clients with improved cost efficiency, lead times and total lifespan. At the top end of the range are the HP-42 and HP-43 models, which are socket weld end, direct mount type valves with a maximum capacity of 10,000 PSI. Valwell’s portfolio also includes numerous two piece and three piece trunnion ball valves built to meet customer specifications, even including a high pressure three-way trunnion valve. As this suggests, a range of three-way, four-way and five-way multidirectional valves are available from the company.
The range of materials available include stainless steel, carbon steel, Hastelloy, Monel, Stellite and aluminium alloy. This is particularly important for niche applications such as offshore platforms, where special alloy ball valves can be manufactured from alloys to meet the high demands placed on a valve in these conditions. Flexibility of materials, and having top grade materials available, is important due to most of the company’s products being used in high stress environments such as offshore rigs, petrochemical plants and LNG / LPG ships.
Valwell is a company keen to promote itself as a solution provider and so makes frequent appearances at maritime exhibitions and conferences. It is, for example, a common exhibitor at the SMM, the world’s leading industry trade fair held annually in Hamburg, Germany, that this year will be held in September. It is also a regular at the Valve World Conference & Exhibition held in Dusseldorf and will have both a booth and stand at this year’s event in November. These have been particularly important in helping it secure new clients and job prospects such as, recently, an agreement with a new German client to provide valves for its offshore platform.
Valwell has everything going for it. A wide array of the highest quality valves, excellent engineering expertise both before and after product delivery, and an international reach that means its clients can rely on the manufacturer no matter where they are in the world. Through these strengths, Valwell continues to expand its business throughout the world.
